4 Reasons to Stay at Anantara The Palm Dubai Resort

After staying at multiple Anantara properties around the world in the past year (Anantara Salalah, Anantara Al-Jabal Al-Akhdar, Anantara Uluwatu, Anantara Kalutara), it was finally time to stay at my base city’s Anantara, which is located in the Palm Jumeirah area.

Perched on the eastern crescent of the iconic Palm Jumeirah, Anantara The Palm Dubai Resort has successfully blended Thai and Arab architecture to provide a cozy setting across the resort despite its massive area.

Anantara The Palm Dubai Resort is a member of the DISCOVERY Loyalty Programme, which I highly recommend joining for free as it offers you discounts and other perks at 35 independent luxury hotel brands, including Anantara in 76 countries.

As is the case with my other hotel reviews, I won’t bore you with factual information about the hotel which you can find on their website, but I will elaborate on the things that make this hotel special.

1. The overwater villas and water lagoons: The Anantara The Palm Dubai Resort has 260 lagoon view and access rooms, 12 beach pool villas, 18 overwater villas, making it the first and only hotel in Dubai to have the latter. Just as beautiful as the overwater villas are the lagoon view rooms which allow you to access the swimming pools directly from your balcony, making your stay closer to the Maldives than it is to Dubai. The hotel has three lagoon pools and you can use all three of them during your stay so you won’t get bored of the views.

2. A unique culinary destination: Unbeknownst to me before this stay that The Anantara The Palm Dubai Resort is home to one of Dubai’s best Asian restaurants, Mekong (don’t miss the roasted duck!), and, even more uniquely, to an Australian restaurant called Bushman’s. What is special about Australian cuisine? It was my first try and I have to say that trying crocodile and kangaroo meat for the first time was an exciting, Instagram-worthy experience!

3. The spa: I always say that the quality of any spa treatment can be measured by how many times I fall asleep during the treatment, and I fell asleep three times here! The spa at The Anantara The Palm Dubai Resort offers a mix of Thai and Arabian beauty and wellness traditions, as well as ancient therapeutic treatments from across Asia in addition to innovative contemporary techniques. Additionally, the facilities at the spa are pretty unique to the UAE such as an aroma steam room, a liquid sound pool, and ice grotto.

4. Excursions and activities: As a member of the DISCOVERY Loyalty Programme, you get access to several unique Local Experiences at The Anantara The Palm Dubai Resort. Among these experiences are blind wine tasting at Bushman’s restaurant and bar, a cocktail mixologist class, and Thai cooking classes. A unique excursion you can do at the hotel is taking Dubai’s first ever Thai longtail boat for a scenic trip between the hotel and the Dubai Marina.
