Review: Steigenberger Hotel, Dubai

A few weeks ago, I was invited by the Steigenberger Hotel in Dubai to stay for a night to review the facilities. The hotel is one of the latest additions to the Dubai hotel scene and is part of the Germany-based Steigenberger hotel group.

The main reason I was looking forward to visiting the hotel was its swimming pool which overlooks the Burj Khalifa and let us face it, who wouldn’t want a view like that.

My stay began with a Friday brunch which was beyond delicious. I do not think I have seen such a big range of tastefully decorated foods at a brunch anywhere in Dubai.

After the brunch, I proceeded to my room which was spacious and overlooks the Dubai Canal, a massive new waterway linking Business Bay to the Arabian Gulf. Needless to say the views were amazing from the room even if the canal project was not completed yet.

The bed and pillows were super comfy and I do not recall sleeping as well as I did there.

The hotel also gets big points for the excellent staff who are always genuinely smiling and always ready to help.

Location wise, I really liked that the hotel is at the center of the city but still on quiet street. You could walk to downtown and the Dubai Mall even in hotter months (except maybe July and August).

I didn’t have the chance to check out the gym but judging from the pictures on the website it looks adequate for visitors.

Also at the hotel was the Brothaus Bakery, a cozy German-inspired bakery, which serves fresh pastries everyday. From what I saw since I was there for launch day, it had an excellent collection of pretzels, pastries, and cakes and you get to see the chefs baking them in front of you.
